Depression, anxiety and panic attacks are NOT a sign of weakness. They are signs of having tried to remain strong for TOO long! 1 in 3 people go through this at some point in their life. Don't buy into the MYTH you are weak. Your STRENGTH has simply been sapped. Give your self a break. Do something kind for yourself. It is NOT an issue of being self absorbed or selfish. I'm always surprised when I hear someone say, "Isn't that being selfish?" NO, it's being self INTERESTED in the name of HEALING!
